Proudly supporting Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas
Westlake for Wishes Mission
We strive to engage Westlake High School and the greater Austin community in raising awareness of Make-A-Wish's mission.
Westlake for Wishes has undertaken the pleasure and responsibility of sponsoring a Wish for a local child with a life-threatening illness. In doing so, we set a goal of raising $7500 to make that child's life shine brighter.
Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Meet the Founders
Here is a message from our founders (also twin brothers) Sam and Julian Benesch on why they started Westlake for Wishes.
I know firsthand the life-changing power of a wish. By age 5, I endured dozens of surgeries, spent almost a year in a hospital, and an endless schedule of breathing treatments and medications. In addition, I received supplemental oxygen 24/7.
Make-A-Wish sent my family and I on a week-long Disney cruise out of Florida to grant my wish to walk on the beach with Mickey Mouse. My wish showed my family how to lead a normal life, which we never thought was possible. I knew that I had a perfect platform at Westlake High School to start Westlake for Wishes and share the impact and joy of a Wish provided to myself and 500,000 other children.
Since Sam’s Wish to walk on the beach with Mickey Mouse was granted by Make-A-Wish, our lives forever changed. Make-A-Wish taught us that it is possible for our family to lead a normal life. The wish reveals and send-offs that I’ve had the pleasure of attending further showed me the positive impact of Wishes for Wish kids. I am so thankful for the opportunity to help grant more Wishes to children in Central & South Texas with Westlake for Wishes.
